MASHAV: FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANT
Last month Mr. Jimmy Anthony from Mauritius attended the course ' Subtropical Fruit Tree Production - Management, Technologies and Post-Harvest’ organized in Israel by MATC - MASHAV Agricultural Training Center and had this to say on his return:
I would like to thank you very much to for this opportunity.
In Mauritius we have strong expertise in research and production of sugar cane and horticulture although there is much work to be done. However, there is little expertise in the field of orchard production.
The experience that I gained through MASHAV is thus very important not only for me but for the whole country. Being a participant and a citizen of quite a remote country, it provided a unique opportunity to get an insight of different countries in terms of culture and agriculture. In addition, there is a network setup between Israel and other African countries.
I am very grateful to MASHAV for the investment of human resources in Africa and in this case also Mauritius. I sincerely hope that I will be able to share the experience of Israel with my relatives, friends and colleagues and inspire others. The knowledge acquired needs to be implemented on my estate (Senneville Agricultural Ltd) through the improved techniques of fruit production.
